Fitting of Contact Lenses
Fitting of Contact Lenses can be fun and exciting as an alternative vision correction to wearing glasses. Depending on your prescription along with your activities/hobbies, your doctor will make recommendations on which contact lens options will work best for each individual patient. Our doctors have many years of experience with fitting a variety of contact lenses that includes:
- Soft disposables and planned replacement lenses
- Rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses
- Astigmatism correcting lenses
- Multifocal/Bifocal lenses
- Cosmetic/Color enhancing lenses
We have also been very successful in fitting difficult cases that require specialty contact lenses.
With the recent and new developments in contact lens technology, we have been able to fit a wide range of new contact lens patients along with previous wearers who had dropped out due to poor comfort, inadequate vision, or dryness related problems.
The contact lens industry have developed a new lens material called silicone hydrogels that provides increase transmission of oxygen to the eyes which means healthier, less dry and red eyes = increase comfort and better vision through out the entire day. Since these new lenses provide abundant oxygen to the eyes, patients have an option of either daily wear and/or extended wear.
